Discover The Greek Grill, Fort Mill

If you’re craving authentic Mediterranean flavors without booking a flight to Athens, The Greek Grill, Fort Mill delivers exactly that-fresh ingredients, generous portions, and the kind of hospitality that makes you want to linger. Conveniently located at 1143 Stonecrest Blvd #101, Tega Cay, SC 29708, United States, this neighborhood favorite has quietly built a reputation for serving some of the most satisfying Greek food in the area.

I’ve visited more than a handful of Greek diners across the Carolinas, and what sets this place apart is its commitment to balance. Greek cuisine is rooted in the Mediterranean diet, which according to Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is consistently linked to heart health and longevity. That focus on olive oil, grilled meats, fresh vegetables, legumes, and yogurt-based sauces is very much alive here. You can taste the difference in their gyros-thinly sliced, well-seasoned meat wrapped in warm pita, layered with crisp lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, and creamy tzatziki. It’s not heavy or greasy; instead, it feels clean and flavorful.

The menu offers all the staples you’d expect: souvlaki skewers, chicken shawarma, falafel, Greek salads topped with feta, and lemon potatoes roasted until tender. On one visit, I watched the staff assemble a classic gyro platter from scratch. The meat was carved fresh off the vertical rotisserie, then plated with rice, a side salad, and warm pita. That attention to process matters. Authentic Greek cooking relies on simple techniques-grilling, roasting, marinating-but precision is key. The marinade for the chicken, for example, uses lemon juice, oregano, garlic, and olive oil. When done right, it tenderizes the meat and locks in flavor without overpowering it.

Customer reviews consistently highlight portion size and value. It’s the kind of place where a single platter can easily stretch into two meals. During a busy Friday lunch, I noticed a steady flow of regulars picking up takeout orders while families dined in. That mix speaks volumes. When locals return weekly, it usually means the food is consistent. Consistency is one of the hardest things to maintain in the restaurant industry, especially for independent establishments.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere leans casual and welcoming. You won’t find white tablecloths here, but you will find friendly staff who remember repeat customers. On my last visit, a staff member recommended adding extra tzatziki and a side of spanakopita-crispy phyllo pastry filled with spinach and feta. That suggestion turned a simple lunch into something memorable. The flaky texture paired beautifully with the creamy filling, and it tasted freshly baked rather than reheated.

From a nutritional standpoint, many dishes offer balanced macronutrients-lean protein, fiber-rich vegetables, and healthy fats. The World Health Organization has long emphasized the benefits of diets rich in plant-based ingredients and unsaturated fats, and Greek cuisine naturally aligns with those guidelines. Of course, if you opt for extra pita and fries, indulgence is part of the fun. Still, the core menu gives diners healthier choices without sacrificing flavor.

Location-wise, being in Tega Cay makes it easily accessible for residents of Fort Mill and surrounding communities. Parking is straightforward, and the setting feels relaxed enough for a quick weekday lunch or a low-key dinner. While it may not have the marketing footprint of large chains, its reputation has grown organically through word of mouth and positive online reviews.

No restaurant is perfect, and peak hours can mean a short wait for freshly prepared items. However, that slight delay often signals that food is made to order rather than preassembled. In my experience, the wait has always been reasonable and worth it.

For anyone exploring Greek restaurants in the Fort Mill area, this spot stands out for authenticity, generous servings, and genuine hospitality. Between the flavorful menu, convenient location, and steady stream of loyal customers, it’s easy to see why it has become a local go-to for Mediterranean comfort food.

  • Best baklava we have had so far! Wife said her chicken pita was a little dry.

  • Very delicious! I tried the Lamb Gyro and Spanakopita both were incredibly tasty and full of flavor. The portions were great, and the quality was excellent. I’ll definitely be ordering again soon!

  • I thought the big stand out was the lamb gyro pita. It tasted incredible but there were large pieces of red onion in it and large slices of tomato just a heads up. Staff seemed nice. I didn’t really much care for the fries too much. The fries were cooked crispy like I like but they didn’t have much flavor. The loukmades weren’t all that either and I couldn’t even finish it. The dessert didn’t have much flavor and was fried pretty hard and wasn’t soft.

  • Greek Grill is so consistent they should franchise it. Food is fresh, well-prepared, with a rotating cast of authentic specials like Pastitsio and Avgolemono as well as standard seafood fare like flounder, grouper, and shrimp. Desserts are delicious homemade, family recipes and satisfy the sweet tooth without being cloying. Don't overlook the rice pudding, which has a pleasant slight citrus hint to round out the richness of the custard. High marks all around, it's clean, consistent quality, generous portions, and bold flavors served by an attentive staff will never disappoint!

  • My family and I decided to try The Greek Grill out for the first time today for an early dinner. After reading reviews and reading the menu we were very excited to visit. We were not disappointed! Like mentioned in other reviews, don’t let the counter service deter you. The food was delicious! The portions were awesome. If you like Greek or Mediterranean food, I definitely recommend trying out The Greek Grill. I ordered the appetizer sampler entree with a side of lamb. I loved having a sampling of a bunch of my favorite dishes including homemade tzatziki and hummus! We’ll definitely be making the trip back to Tega Cay from York soon!

  • We had my birthday party catered by the Greek Grill this past weekend. I can’t express enough how wonderful the food was. Almost all the food was gone by the end of the night. We had just enough for a little snack the next day It was absolutely delicious. Louie delivered the food to our venue and was very prompt on time. We will definitely be using the Greek Grill for our next party!!! I’m pretty sure some of our guests will be using them as well, as they enjoyed the chicken kebabs, the salad, rice, and tzatziki

  • Wow! I've had a lot of Greek food in my 57 years on this earth and until today I thought the best was in Detroit (there is a section of the Motor City actually called "Greek Town"). I was wrong. If you are in the Fort Mill, SC area, you must try the Greek Grill! Amazing Gyro, fantastic Grape Leaves, tasty Tzatziki sauce and the freshest pita bread make for a wonderful experience! Don't let the counter ordering fool you - the customer service was phenomenal! It felt like everyone there was working to make the most enjoyable experience for everyone! Love, love, love the Greek Grill and will absolutely be back!

  • They have the very best salads. My favorite is the Traditional Greek Salata add Salmon. Just absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and are always willing to explain the menu items. The price is also reasonable. I wish I could say more about the food but I can't get past the salad to try anything else.
